THE WOODLANDS, Texas, Dec. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- 乐天堂fun88(中国区)官方网站 Corporation (NYSE: HUN) today announced it has received an additional payment of $40 million from certain reinsurers relating to an outstanding insurance claim resulting from the April 29, 2006 fire at its manufacturing facility in Port Arthur, Texas.
Following the fire, the facility was repaired and conveyed to Flint Hills Resources in connection with 乐天堂fun88(中国区)官方网站's sale of its U.S. commodity chemicals businesses, but insurance claims arising from the fire were retained by 乐天堂fun88(中国区)官方网站.
The payment announced today was received in connection with a partial settlement with certain reinsurers. Pursuant to the partial settlement, 乐天堂fun88(中国区)官方网站's remaining claims for insurance coverage relating to the April 29, 2006 fire with respect to most of the reinsurers participating in the settlement will be fully resolved through non-binding mediation and, if necessary, binding arbitration.
乐天堂fun88(中国区)官方网站 previously paid its deductible on the claim of $60 million. To date, reinsurers have paid $365 million to 乐天堂fun88(中国区)官方网站 (including the $40 million announced today). 乐天堂fun88(中国区)官方网站 has, additionally, claimed approximately $235 million as presently due and owing and unpaid under its insurance policy for losses caused by the fire. 乐天堂fun88(中国区)官方网站 anticipates filing additional claims as well.
